Want to Lose Weight by Sleeping? Read On!

  • People who don't get enough sleep have insulin and blood sugar levels that are similar to those in people who are likely to have diabetes.
  • Those who regularly report sleeping less than 7 hours a night are more likely to gain weight compared to people who sleep 7 to 8 hours a night.
  • Previous literature had the magic number at 6 hours minimum per night. Jettison that from your memory bank and replace it with lucky number 7 minimum (to 8) hours.
